The most satisfying projects are ones in which I’ve accurately transformed a client’s personal, internal vision into external reality. It’s important my personal tastes and preferences do not interfere with client goals. I listen closely to understand what they want, and blend that with expert knowledge of building materials, natural resources, budget constraints, and intended use.

After 20 years designing and building in San Antonio, Texas, I have expanded into the Austin area.  A distinctive feature of James Allison Design is a fluid, open floor plan that brings the external environment inside.
